Join host Shumba Maasai as he delves into Ethiopian music and culture with talented musician and storyteller Temesgen Zeleke.

Hailing from Addis Ababa, Temesgen began his musical journey with the traditional krar lyre in his teens and went on to become a celebrated artist at Ethiopia’s National Theatre. Since moving to London, he has brought Ethiopian music to global audiences with his band, the Krar Collective, and has graced stages in acclaimed productions like the Unicorn Theatre’s Garbage King and the Young Vic’s The Emperor. Temesgen has also performed with Damon Albarn’s Africa Express and collaborated with Paul Weller.

The evening will feature an engaging discussion and a captivating live performance by Temesgen Zeleke.
